Down with love… and all teenagers… and all campers… and anyone else on Camp Crystal Lake

Film, Review 0 Comment »
From Drop Box

The latest reboot to hit the big screens is the well timed Friday the 13th. I remember my first experience with Mr. Voorhees when I was very very young. I remember seeing him pick up some poor teen camper by the head, hand on each side, and squeezing until his eyes popped out. Shown in full graphic glory that Jason has become well known for. Keeping it short and sweet, I really enjoyed this movie. It had all the aspects of the classic series, bad dialogue, over the top killing, gratuitious nudity, everything you could want from Jason.

Without spoiling anything, the first 20 or so minutes leading up to a small surprise was rather fun. As was evident by the applause from the crowd :D   I enjoyed the fact that he was more realistic too. While some parts may have been a stretch, his moving from point to point wasnt magical.. he just moved..  one quirk was that he ran.. Jason doesnt run.. he just kills.. but I can overlook that. Overall I’d recommend seeing it, and in the theater too.

Last thought… I loved the reveal of the mask.. I won’t lie.. I got chills!

Lighting Comparison

Film 0 Comment »

Our task was to take a scene from a movie/television show and re-create the lighting to the best of our abilities given only the information we can see on screen. My group (Myself, Alex Welgraven, and Andrew Neill) did a scene from the episode “Scar” from Battlestar Galactica season 2. We built the background and did all the lighting in our green-screen room on campus. The finished product will be posted as soon as it is finished.
